Mission Statement
BROWN Academy’s Mission is to provide a safe and developmentally appropriate learning and recreational environment, where educators and families work cooperatively to foster the development of each individual child in meeting their full potential.
We Endeavor To:
• Provide an enriching and stimulating curriculum, as well as safe, high quality child care.
• Create strong family partnerships where we not only focus on the children in our care, but our school family becomes an extension of your family.
• Promote a professional and diversified work environment where collaboration and continued education are the norm.
• Build strong, healthy relationships within the communities we serve.


Our Director
Ashley Sherman is a native Rhode Islander. She graduated from Rhode Island College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood and Special Education. During her time in Rhode Island, Ashley worked in Head Start and Preschool programs with children ages three to five.
In 2014, she relocated to Fort Myers, pursuing a teaching position at BROWN Academy, working as lead VPK and Kindergarten teacher from 2014-2017. During this time Ashley assisted with a variety of administrative duties and was elevated to the position of Business Manager in Spring 2017. Ashley held the position of Business Manager for two years before becoming the director of BROWN Academy.
Ashley makes her home in Fort Myers with her husband and beautiful daughter, as well as their two Golden Retrievers. They enjoy spending time together as a family attending Spring Training games, visiting Disney and walking their two fun-loving dogs.
